Who is Langley-IT.uk ?
Langley-IT.uk is based near Leeds Castle in the beautiful Kent countryside and its the brainchild of Chris Ridett.
Chris has been in IT and Telecoms for decades and has significant experience in the industry.
From cabling assistant when he first started with Direct Telecom, working up to head engineer and team leader. Moving to Avaya to be a New Product Introduction specialist then moving across to Tier 4 then to Support Analyst at Dawnay Day.
At Dawnay Day he became helpdesk supervisor and team leader, then moved to Senior Analyst at Hobart Capital, eventually becoming Head of IT there before moving on.
Currently IT Manager at CIWEM, Langley-IT.uk is a showcase of Chris’ abilities and knowledge.
The Site
The website costs nothing.
With full disclosure, the domain name is ~£12 / year but thats it, this isnt hosted on a paid site/ AWS or running on someones cloud or VPS.
This webserver is running on the LAMP stack, Ubuntu with Mysql, Apache and PHP with WordPress all on an old, Ultra Small Form Factor Hp unit with Dynamic DNS and hosted on a domestic broadband.
It has the 3CX web chat and call plugin, with 3CX’s free sub 10 user hosted systems.
There are also some pages within this site showing my knowledge of PHP, have a look for the ” Miles per Tenner” calculator.
